Note: Key plot points for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 follow below.
The Warrior Group Introduced
Episode 3 ended with a major cliffhanger and revealed the premier party of heroes who will separate from the main group to embark on their own adventure, apart from the additional parties.
This warrior group consists of Teor (brought to life by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (the player), and Kattigan (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
Considering 13 cast members, it was evident from the outset that keeping everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
Hence, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, connecting the personal journeys before branching into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Planners, and Seekers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
According to the DM, the combat-focused party is for participants who prefer a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven narrative style where non-violent answers are few and far between.
At first glance, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander might appear mismatched, but the actions of episode 3 make it clear why these particular heroes are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
First, the team knows exactly where to head next after a brutal opening clash with the antagonists.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose death initiated the campaign’s events—exploited the foes for his own means, breaking into the secret base, assaulting Thimble, and swiping all the magical artifacts to sell off.
The traitor then paid off his obligations and ran away to a secure base in the northern region, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Personal Motivations
Moreover, each character has a specific drive to exit the urban setting:
- Thimble, as the close ally and closest confidant, wants retribution.
- Kattigan is familiar with the northern area and cautions that it is a dangerous environment.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having resisted his relatives’ demands to eliminate Teor and instead freed him, have no other options.
- However, their reputation as prominent individuals in the powerful family could assist the party reach locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Moreover, Teor pledged a unbreakable promise to The savior for his deliverance and will now follow him anywhere.
Fugitives
In addition, all of them are wanted by the rulers that govern Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making remaining behind dangerous:
- The rogue and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and The healer betrayed the influential house and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This leaves them few options but to travel to the remote area in search of the antagonist.
